Craig Evan was born Craig Melendez on May 24, 1991 in Ronkonkoma, New York. Raised alongside his older brother by their Russian, Jewish mother and close friends and family. Their father Robert of Italian and Puerto Rican decent was no longer in the picture. 

 

As a child Craig was quiet and quite strange, attempting many sports and activities, but never really finding a suitable outlet.  He was a huge wrestling fan and also happened to be obsessed with the intro and theme music they played during events. 

 

His musical interests were truly sparked  once his mother, who had to do double time to support two sons gifted him with a boombox and his first CD from the store she worked at. This is when he first heard  Will Smith ft. Jazzy Jeff on the album Home Base. Ever since that moment he was a Hip-Hop fan. 

 

After his mother remarried Craig Melendez became Craig Vitacco and a middle child, of three boys. Shortly after  his younger brother was born the family moved out to Arizona. They stayed with relatives while they had a house built, which took longer than expected so they moved back to New York temporarily. Once the house was finished back they went, but this was not the final move. Uprooted again and again he bounced back and forth between the Arizona desert and Long Island a total of five times until finally landing back in New York in October 2011. 

 

As an adolescent Craig trained in the MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) circuit for fun and briefly lived in Florida to peruse a goal as a professional wrestler. While still keeping music as an inspiration and hobby, he discovered  he was unable to handle the expenses of both. Which lead him to the decision of solely following his true passion of creating music. 

 

 

Once he moved back to New York the final time his only hope was to record and distribute a mixtape and this objective was reached later in 2012 when he dropped Never Duplicated, his first ever debut into  Hip-hop music. Little success came of it, but his fire never burned out and he later did a live performance.

 

Currently Craig is working on new lyrics, as well as broadening his awareness of society, culture, issues of today and current events. Hoping to spread his message and music to real people and fans.  He looks forward to releasing new mixtapes, solos and an upcoming album in 2015.
